It's an important area for bird nesting and recreation, and thus, restricts pedestrian use at the north and south ends. Shuttles leave the mainland at 10 am, 12, and 2 pm. The island is unattended by any staff, so stay safe. Camping is by permit only. Island is also accessible by private boat.
