Walk, jog, or bike the Tarpon Springs portion of the Pinellas Trail532 Live Oak Street, Tarpon Springs , FL 34689
This is where the Pinellas Trail begins (or ends depending on your point of view). Stroll or bike during business hours and you can stop by the historical museum inside the old train station located at Tarpon Ave. and Safford St. Neptune Cyclery just south of Tarpon Ave. along the trail offers both bicycle and inline skate rentals. If you're taking an after-hours walk or jog, you can catch some waterside views as you pass through Craig Park. If you do this whole section, from Jasmine Ave. to E. Morgan St., you'll travel approximately 2 miles. The entire Pinellas Trail stretches 34 miles from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs. Most of the Pinellas Trail was once a railroad corridor. Today, the mostly-paved trail is a protected place for walking, jogging, rollerskating, rollerblading or biking. Go for 34 yards or all 34 miles, with kids or without. Either way, you'll get a new, more relaxed glimpse of the area. And every step, skate or pedal push will be active fun that keeps you feeling good.
